Frequently Asked Questions
-
We strongly encourage all mothers to do their own research to decide what they are comfortable doing but based on our own - there are no known risks to the mother or fetus from having ultrasounds. There is no radiation involved at all (unlike X-rays or MRIs) and the way the machine works is by sending waves of sound through tiny crystals in the ultrasound probe. According to the FDA and ACOG there is no evidence that weekly ultrasounds are harmful to developing fetuses. If you have any follow up questions on this please reach out to us to discuss further. You feeling comfortable is of utmost importance to us!

For many women - seeing the baby move and hearing the heart beat helps them connect to their baby and helps them process the experience of being pregnant. For many is it an important motivating factor to eat nourishing foods and schedule in time for movement! Overall, it decreases anxiety and increases a sense of wellness and excitement.

For any pregnant women there is always the risk of fetal demise. Thankfully, this occurs without other symptoms in less then 1% of the population so it is pretty uncommon. In the tragic case of a fetal demise our technician would stay with you to call your spouse and/or escort you to the emergency room or your doctor.
